Join our lions for lunch
To protect them from poaching, our lions Jabu and Cindy are housed in a spacious and securely fenced area right next to the Bush Lodge lapa. They are not used for breeding as lions breed very successfully in captivity, which leads to overpopulation very quickly. Our lions can be observed up close by guests, and the thrill of their roars at night is like nothing else in the African Bush. They are fed every Saturday and Wednesday morning at 10:00 am.
Spot your favorites and add new species sightings to your bird watching list.
The majestic Magaliesberg mountains not only serve as the separation between highveld grassland and savannah bushveld, but also house the base of the cliffs filled with endangered indigenous forests. This rich tapestry of habitats converges, creating a haven for a wide array of bird species to thrive and enchant visitors with their presence. Over 100 species of bird calls this area home year-round.
Sable Ranch is a sanctuary for vulnerable species
At Sable Ranch, we are deeply committed to the preservation and protection of endangered and threatened species. With habitats disappearing at an alarming rate due to human activities, many species are facing the threat of extinction.
We recognize the importance of biodiversity and the delicate balance it brings to our ecosystem. Through conservation efforts and sustainable practices, we strive to provide a safe haven for IUCN red data and other increasingly rare species.
We are home to various antelope, each more magnificent than the last.
Imagine witnessing a herd of graceful impalas leaping through the bush, or catching a glimpse of the regal kudu with its spiraled horns reaching towards the sky.
Our guided game drives offer you the opportunity to observe these remarkable creatures up close in their natural habitat.
